In Year Six we are currently taking our bikeability training so we can ride more safely on the road.
The Year Six rounders team took part in the inter-school rounders competition this week. After the group stage, we won our semi final, then drew the final game, coming second due to more team members being out than the opposition. Still, the team performed unbelievably well and were awarded their well-deserved silver medals. Well done! We have been carrying out an experiment in order to understand which materials can and cannot be filtered through filter paper.
Year Six have been learning about today's General Election, looking at the manifestos from some of the main parties in the UK and having a vote on who should win.
As part of Wellbeing Week, we have been discussing the five areas of wellbeing that can help us lead healthy, happy lives. Yesterday, Year Six visited Kidzania to spend the day exploring the city and to experience a variety of job opportunities. Pictures to follow... The boys and girls cricket team have been taking part in the local area cricket tournaments over the past two weeks. Congratulations to the girls team for winning their tournament and progressing to the Essex finals!
We have been using one of David Hockney's techniques of looking closely at small objects from nature to practise our sketching and watercolour skills. As part of our David Hockney art project, we have created 'joiners'. These are in the style of David Hockney and are made up of lots of smaller photographs. We used IPADs to enable the creation of these.
